Brent's Place makes a difference in the lives of children with cancer and their families…one day at a time

Brent's Place is a unique long-term housing facility in the Rocky Mountain region specifically designed for children whose immune systems are compromised as they are recovering from Bone Marrow Transplantation. Brent's Place can house these high risk patients because of its specialized living environment that includes 'safe clean' apartments and common areas as well as support activities to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of caregivers, the patients and their siblings.

Specialized housing and common areas:

  • Hardwood floors - carpet can hide dust and mildew

  • Solid surfaces so hard to clean areas can be wiped cleaned easily

  • Clutter free apartments to prevent dust accumulation

Support activities:

  • Outings

  • Art therapy

  • Educational projects

  • Caregiver respite activites

Unique Accomplishments:

  • In 2007 Brent's Place received the Henry McAllister Award for Execellence from the El Pomar Foundation, for most outstanding non-profit in the Special Projects category.

  • In 2006, Brent's Place was a Finalist for Colorado Ethics in Business Award for Most Outstanding Non-Profit organization.

  • In 2005, the National Association Hospital Hospitality Houses recognized Brent's Place

  • Our most poignant accomplishments come from the feedback from the families: 'Brent's Place provides an invaluable service to families going through what is probably the toughest life challenge that I know and I am eternally grateful. You demonstrate that the absolute best way to deal with this is to continue to laugh, love, and endlessly make a difference in the lives of others.'
